A businessman who attempted to stab and kill a woman for money rituals has been apprehended by angry youths in Imo state. Luck has ran out on a businessman while attempting to use a lady for money rituals at Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state. The man reportedly stabbed the lady multiple times on her body before she escaped and ran for her dear life. She was seen bleeding profusely after the incident. After raising alarm, a group of youths mobilized and stormed a bush in the area where the man was apprehended after several hours of search. He was finally arrested and taken in handcuffs by security operatives. NNPC, IOCs to Curb Oil Theft with Joint Security Strategy

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) wednesday disclosed that it was working closely with International Oil Companies (IOCs) operating in Nigeria to deploy a structured and holistic security strategy against the incidence of oil and gas infrastructure sabotage in the country. A statement from the Group General Manager, Public Affairs of the NNPC, Mr. Ndu Ughamadu, in Abuja, stated that plans on the new security collaboration with the IOCs was disclosed by the corporation’s General Manager, Group Security Department, Mr. Sam Otoboeze. According to the statement, Otoboeze stated that the new plan would complement existing efforts of the federal government at securing oil and gas facilities in the country, as well as operations in the industry. JAMB Fixes 2017/2018 Admission Cut-off Marks

Senator Iroegbu in Abuja The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Tuesday fixed the cut-off marks for admission into higher institutions of learning in the country for the 2017/2018 academic session. At a policy meeting held with the heads of institutions and other education regulatory bodies in Abuja, the examination body ratified 120 as the minimum mark for degree-awarding institutions. The meeting at the National Judicial Institute, Abuja, had in attendance vice chancellors, Rectors, Provosts and Registrars of tertiary institutions. For the polytechnics, the lowest mark that qualifies a candidate for admission is 100, while the highest that an institution can fix is 180. Same mark applies to Colleges of Education. The admission cut-off mark for Innovative Enterprise Institutions ranges between 110 and 120. Southern Nigerian groups have resolved to take the agitation for the restructuring of the country to United Kingdom with a maiden international summit. To that end, an inaugural meeting for the campaign is being held today, Tuesday, August 22, 2017. The groups involved in the Diaspora agitation for restructuring are South East /South South Network, Afenifere Renewal Group UK, Bendel Foundation and Igbo Ekunie Initiative. ‎ In a statement issued by the groups and signed by Coordinator, Dr Philip Idaehor, the Southern groups would use the medium to draw the attention of the international community to the need for restructuring the country for better performance.
